Unlocking John Deere R-Series Hydraulics

If you have ever found your hydraulic remote switches in a John Deere R-Series tractor with Gen 4 display not functioning, this simple fix may have you up and running in no time. If you check your main tractor run page or SCV page for your remote status and find a lock icon, where the detent time is normally displayed, your switch will not work in this state. Navigate to Control Setup, each SCV should be assigned to a switch and have a green light next to it. If the green light is absent, press Activate Custom at the bottom of the menu. All your lights should now be green and you can check your SCV for restored functionality. If this simple fix does not correct the issue, shutting off the tractor, flipping your battery disconnect off and then on again, and restarting the tractor to reboot all your controllers to reestablish communication.
